Cocaine off of CT shelves

I remember a seeing Brandon Rudat reporting about this a few weeks ago on NBC30, an energy drink called “Cocaine” that was causing a lot of controversy. Most parents aren’t big fans of energy drinks anyway…now that there’s one that is named after a drug, it’s even worse. But the person who took action wasn’t a parent, it was Atty. General Richard Blumenthal. Blumenthal and Hartford Mayor Eddie Perez have ordered the drinks be seized off CT store shelves because the drink is not properly licensed. The commissioner of the Department of Consumer Protection also says that the drink does not have proper coding indicating where the source of the ingredients are from.

There are so many energy drinks these days that, in my opinion, it doesn’t matter what name they’re labeled with – sooner or later a young kid is gonna die from one of the ingredients (that make the heart race) and all of them are gonna be pulled off the shelves.
